Ingredients and Substitutions
This vegan hummus wrap is so easy to make in just minutes with a few simple ingredients (full quantities in recipe card below):
- hummus - Feel free to use storebought or homemade hummus. I used my homemade Classic Hummus and whipped it up in just 5 minutes. You can use any flavor of hummus that you like in this wrap. Try Roasted Red Pepper Hummus, Pesto Hummus, or Avocado Hummus.
- tortilla wrap - you can use tortillas or you can substitute with any flatbread such as Pita Bread or Naan Bread. I recommend using room temperature tortillas. If your tortillas have been refrigerated, warming them for a few seconds in the microwave first to make them easier to work with.
- vegetables - I added cucumbers, tomato, and avocado to this wrap. Feel free to add in your favorite veggies. Some other great ideas are shredded carrots, shredded purple cabbage, bell peppers, olives, and red onions.
- greens - I used my favorite baby spinach and mixed greens salad blend. You can substitute this with your favorite salad blend or lettuce such as arugula, kale, romaine lettuce. You can also add in a handful of alfalfa sprouts or microgreens for added nutrition and flavor.
- seasonings - I seasoned this with salt and pepper. Feel free to give it an extra kick with some hot sauce.

Recipe Tips and FAQ
- Warm the tortilla. If you are using cold refrigerated tortillas, I would recommend bringing them to room temperature first or warming them for a few seconds in the microwave to make them easier to work with.
- How to store: Veggie hummus wraps are best served fresh. You can store them in the fridge for up to 2 days. But note that the tomatoes will start to make the tortillas soggy. The longer you store it, the soggier the tortilla will get. Store them in an airtight container or wrapped tightly in aluminum foil.
- Make ahead tips: To prepare these veggie wraps ahead of time, I would suggest chopping up any ingredients so that you can assemble the wrap very quickly. You can also make homemade hummus up to a week ahead of time or use store-bought — whatever it more convenient for you.
- Can you freeze hummus wraps? No, you cannot freeze these wraps. They are best served fresh.
- Can you grill this wrap? You can add a little crispiness to these hummus wraps by popping it into a sandwich press, grill pan, or toaster oven for a minute to two to get it nice and toasty.
