It’s a great source of vitamin c, vitamin a, manganese, zinc, and selenium, just to name a few.
Spinach has powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant abilities, so combined with the fact that it is a super low calorie food, you’re left with one of the most nutrient-dense foods ever. These leafy greens soak up environmental toxins from our bodies, neutralize heavy metals, chemicals, and pesticides, and protect our livers.
If you didn’t think that was amazing enough, there’s more! Spinach is basically anti-aging and decreases the risk of heart diseases, diabetes, neurodegenerative diseases, and obesity.

- 2 cups baby spinach
- ¼ cup parsley, coarsely chopped
- 1 banana
- 1 apple
- 1 grapefruit, peeled and chopped
- 1 cup coconut water (or water)
- 1-inch knob fresh ginger, peeled and minced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice, freshly squeezed (from ½ lemon)
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey (if desired)
- Combine all ingredients into a blender. Blend until perfectly smooth, about 1 minute.
- Pour into two large glasses (or jars) and serve immediately.
