Description

Sweet and savoury pineapple glazed ham slices are perfect for a holiday dinner. With a caramelized glaze, this ham is dressed to impress.


Ingredients

  • 1.5 lb. boneless cooked ham, cut into ten 1/4-inch thick slices
  • 1 (20 oz.) can pineapple slices (10 rings)
  • 10 red tart cherries, pitted (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon pineapple juice
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard  

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 F.
  2. In a quarter sheet baking pan, arrange ham in 2 rows, slightly overlapping. Top with pineapple slices with cherries in the middle. Reserve 1 tablespoon of pineapple juice from the can for the glaze.
  3. Bake the ham for 15 minutes.
  4. In a small bowl, combine reserved pineapple juice, brown sugar and mustard, and stir well to combine.
  5. Remove baked ham from the oven and evenly brush it with the glaze. Return the ham to the oven and bake for another 20 minutes until the glaze caramelizes and turns golden brown.
  6. Serve immediately.

Notes

How to store: Pineapple glazed ham slices taste best fresh but will keep in the fridge for up to 5 days. Allow it to cool down to room temperature first, then place into an airtight container and store in the refrigerator.

How to freeze: Allow the ham to cool to room temperature, then wrap the ham slices tightly in plastic wrap or aluminum foil. Place the wrapped slices inside a freezer bag. and freeze for up to 3 months. To serve, allow it to thaw overnight in the refrigerator before reheating.

How to reheat: Reheat in a 300F preheated oven for 5-10 minutes until warmed through, or in the microwave in 20-second increments until warm. Time in the microwave will vary depending on how many slices you are reheating.
