Ingredients
For the crust:
- 2 cups (250 grams) oreo cookie crumbs
- 2 tablespoons (25 grams) white sugar
- 4 tablespoons (56 grams) unsalted butter, melted
For the chocolate ganache filling:
- 6 ounces (170 grams) semi-sweet chocolate, finely chopped
- 4 ounces (114 grams) milk chocolate, finely chopped
- 1 cup (240 grams) heavy cream
- 1/4 cup (56 grams) unsalted butter, cut into cubes
- 1/2 cup fruit, such as berries and figs (for decorating)
Instructions
Make the chocolate crust:
- Preheat the oven to 350F.
- In a medium mixing bowl, add the oreo cookie crumbs and sugar and whisk until well combined. Pour the melted butter into the bowl, then mix with a fork (or your hands) until the butter is well dispersed and the mixture resembles wet sand.
- Add the crust into a 9-inch non-stick tart pan and press it down evenly into the bottom and up the sides. Use a flat bottom measuring cup to really compact the crust down.
- Place the crust into the oven to bake for 11 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool to room temperature.
Make the chocolate ganache filling:
- In a medium to large size microwave-safe bowl, add the chopped chocolates, cream, and butter. Place into the microwave and microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring in between, until fully melted and smooth.
- Pour into the cooled crust, then place into the fridge to fully harden, at least 6 hours or preferably overnight.
- Serve as is or decorate with assorted fruit once set.
Notes
How to store: Store leftover Chocolate Tart in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Keep the tart covered to maintain freshness and prevent it from absorbing fridge odors.
How to freeze: You can freeze the entire tart (undecorated) by wrapping it tightly in plastic wrap, followed by foil. Freeze for up to 1 month. Thaw in the fridge overnight before serving and add fresh fruit just before serving.
