Chocolate Covered Oreos are a perfect last minute treat to satisfy that chocolate craving. This recipe levels up regular Oreos with a layer of semi-sweet chocolate and a drizzle of white chocolate on top. Serve this elegant but easy dessert or snack at birthday parties, tea time, or holiday parties.

  • 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, coarsely chopped (1.5 cups)
  • 12 regular oreos
  • 2 ounces white chocolate, coarsely chopped (1/4 cup)

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. Melt the chocolate with butter in a medium heatproof bowl over a pan of simmering water. Make sure the bottom of the bowl does not touch the water, or you will burn the chocolate. Whisk until melted and smooth. Remove from heat and let it cool down for a few minutes. (You can also melt the butter in the microwave in 30 second increments, stirring in between, until melted).
  3. Use a fork to carefully dip each oreo into the melted chocolate. Tap the edge of the bowl to remove any excess chocolate and place the coated oreos back onto the lined baking sheet.
  4. Transfer the cookies to the fridge for 10 minutes to set.
  5. Meanwhile, melt the white chocolate over a double broiler or in the microwave.

Remove the oreos from the fridge and drizzle the melted white chocolate on top.

  6. Return to fridge to let set for another 10 minutes.
