Description

This easy and delicious 7 layer dip is the perfect dip to serve at your next party, made with layers of beans, guacamole, salsa, cheese, and more.

Ingredients

  • 14 ounce can refried beans
  • 8 ounce package cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning
  • 2 cups guacamole
  • 2 cups salsadrained
  • 1 + 1/2 cups cheddar cheeseshredded
  • 1/4 cup black olivessliced
  • 1/4 cup tomatoesdiced
  • 2 tablespoons green onionssliced

Instructions

  1. In an 8-inch square casserole pan or 2.5 quart casserole dish, spread the refried beans in a single layer on the bottom.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, and taco seasoning and stir to combine. Gently spread mixture over the refried beans in an even layer.
  3. Add a layer of guacamole.
  4. Use a fine mesh sieve to drain the salsa to remove any excess water. Then, spread the drained salsa over the guacamole.
  5. Top with shredded cheese. Sprinkle black olives, tomatoes, and green onions on top.
  6. Serve immediately with tortilla chips or crackers, or store in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

Notes

Do I have to let it set? You can serve this dip immediately, but if you have the time, I recommend chilling it in the refrigerator for 1 hour to allow the dip to firm up and bring the flavors together.

How to store: 7-layer dip is best served fresh or within 24 hours. Keep leftover 7 layer dip in the fridge for 4-5 days. Cover the pan with plastic cling wrap or aluminum foil. Note that the longer it is stored, the more the layers will start to blend into each other and won't look as good, but the taste will still be the same.

How to use leftovers: Serve leftovers as dip for your favorite Mexican dishes such as Fish Stick Tacos, Shrimp Avocado Tostadas, Beef and Bean Burritos, or Chicken Quesadillas
