Description

This Easy Tossed Salad is crisp, colorful, and packed with fresh flavor! Made with crunchy romaine lettuce, juicy grape tomatoes, crisp cucumber, and a simple homemade balsamic vinaigrette, it comes together in just minutes. This salad is fresh, light, and full of satisfying textures. It can be used as a base recipe that's easy to customize with your favorite toppings, dressings, or add-ins to suit any meal or dietary need. 


Ingredients

  • 2 heads romaine lettuce (or mixed greens)
  • 1/4 cup red onion, sliced
  • 2 cups grape tomatoes (or cherry tomatoes), halved
  • 1 medium English cucumber, sliced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
  • 1/4 cup feta cheese, crumbled (optional)

For the dressing:

  • 1/3 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin oliveoil
  • 2 tablespoons dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a large serving bowl, combine all the salad ingredients including lettuce, red onion, tomatoes, cucumber, bell pepper, and feta, if using.
  2. In a small mixing bowl, mix together all the dressing ingredients (including balsamic vinegar, olive oil, Dijon mustard, honey, salt, and pepper) until smooth.
  3. Drizzle the dressing over the salad and toss to combine. Serve immediately.

Notes

How to store: Transfer any leftover salad (without dressing, if possible) to an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 2 days. If the salad is already dressed, it’s best enjoyed within 24 hours.
